The name Royal Red Robe refers to a sick Ming dynasty official who after drinking the tea recovered and in gratitude placed his cloak over the tea bushes.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\u003cp\u003eThe very large, dark, open style leaves produce a rich smooth, golden amber cup with notes of peaches, apricots and hyacinth with a long mellow finish. It has a deliciously sweet aroma. Infuse one teaspoon per cup at 85 degrees C for five minutes. Increase this time for subsequent infusions (up to four). Phoenix Dancong Oolong produces a pale gold infusion with a floral, tropical-fruit aroma. On the palate it has a dryish, intense taste of stone-fruit and a lingering sweetness. Made in a gaiwan use 5 grams with 100 ml boiling water and infuse initially for 20 seconds. Up to ten infusions can be made, gradually extending the brewing time.
