An Ji Bai Cha has a strong following in China and the leaf is notably long with a distinct jade green colour. It is so named because the hew resembles the colour of white jade. The aroma is fresh and citrusy with a delicately floral aspect. In the cup it has a grassy, gently tangy character with a soft, long finish. The liquor is clear, pale green. Use one heaped teaspoon of this very bulky tea per cup with freshly drawn and boiled water that has cooled to around 80 degrees C. Infuse for two minutes. The leaf may be infused up to four times. This 2024 picking is superb. It is a FTGFOP1 grade tea is noticeably tippy and green and pale brown in colour with a deep, freshly floral aroma. In the cup it is pale amber with that wonderful muscatel character and a surprising smoothness for a first flush. It has a fabulously sweet and heady aroma. Drinking this delicate tea is a real delight. Use one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot with freshly drawn and boiled water and infuse for four minutes.\u003cbr\u003e\rMargaret's Hope is probably the most famous of Darjeeling's gardens. Established in 1865 by Mr Cruikshank beside the Balsun river, at an altitude of up to 5000 ft. near to Kurseong. Tragically his daughter Margaret died on the long voyage home to England and he re-named the garden in the hope that he would be forever reminded of her.
