China Keemun tea: Dahlia from Anhui Province.
China Keemun tea is 'gongfu' tea in that it requires disciplined skill to produce the leaf in tight, thin strips. Dahlia has a rich liquor and delicate aroma. Keemun is the most famous of China's black teas and, due to its subtle, biscuity nature and winey character it is considered the "Burgundy of teas". Make with freshly boiled water using one teaspoon per person and one for the cup. Infuse for three minutes. Best drunk without milk. A classic afternoon tea.
The benefits of loose leaf tea
- This China Keemun tea is chosen for its distinctive, balanced flavour.
- Loose leaf tea enables the full flavour characteristics of the tea to infuse.
- The tea is chosen for its high grade which imparts the flavour and aroma characteristics for which this tea is best known.
- A little patience is required when infusing large leaf grades but you will be rewarded with a superior, more balanced cup.

China Keemun tea Dahlia: Its a poor expression of Keemun but priced accordingly. You get what you pay for. I bought this along with Mao Feng and Hao Ya A. The Mao Feng is similar, I’ve mixed the two and using them in my own breakfast blend, along with some Assam and a little Ceylon. The Hao Ya A is what Keemun tastes like. Super happy with the growing range on offer from Grey’s. I wish they offered trial sachets though. I’d pay for these, rather than end up chucking the mediocre stuff in my blends!!

I am sorry that you were not pleased with the Keemun Dahlia even though it is our entry-level Keemun. We do offer samples which can be ordered in the Accessories and Samples section of our store.

Delicate but distinctive taste unlike the many bland Keemuns I have tried over the past few months.

Product: This is our morning tea – the delicate floral notes are perfect for waking up to! We re-buy this regularly.
Service: I have ordered many times from Greys teas – it would be helpful if they remembered what I’ve ordered in the past and stop treating me as a new customer each time. Also when Greys recommend new teas in their newsletters, it would be good if they took account of my previous purchases: I always buy Keemun Dahlia and Ceylon Kenilworth – I would like to know other teas that are similar in character. I work in CRM and would happily advise Greys on how to improve their relationships with existing customers!
Vendor response: You are free to create an account where you will be able to see previous teas ordered by yourself since you created the account. We group teas by growing regions under black, green, oolong and white teas so comparable teas will be on the same sub-section page with links through to the individual tea pages where their tasting notes appear in full. On occasions we do cross reference such as our Earl Grey blend is linked with our China green Earl Grey tea. We do value your feedback. I hope this response is helpful.
