Description

Ceylon Nuwara Eliya High Grown Orange Pekoe: grown in the highest parts of Sri Lanka’s central highlands

A medium bodied, mellow and floral Ceylon Nuwara Eliya high grown from Sri Lanka’s central highlands. The leaf has a lovely aromatic, tobacco-like aroma. In the cup Ceylon Nuwara Eliya High Grown is deep bronze and has a most appealing elegance and lack of tannins. Use one teaspoon per person plus one for the pot with freshly boiling water and infuse for three minutes. Can be taken with milk.

Good “Light bodied, well balanced Ceylon.”
A perfect afternoon cuppa “Just the thing when you want something a little lighter than breakfast tea. It’s got a smooth flavour and great colour. I think it works well weak with no milk as well as brewed a little longer with milk. A nice and tasty tea.”
An interesting tea with a hint of sweetness “Another one to try later in the day when you need a lift. It’s quite distinctive with a light sweet taste to the brew. Don’t over brew it to keep the subtle flavours from being masked by the tannins. Nice colour and goes with milk and a ginger biscuit just right.”
My favourite tea “We bought Ceylon teas years ago when we had access to a speciality tea store which has since closed. So I was delighted to find this tea again, through internet shopping, and to find that it is just as good as I remember. It is bright and has a lovely flavour.”
Excellent Tea “An excellent tea with great colour and taste, arrived very quickly after ordering, a wonderful service.”
Very well rounded, though not typical Ceylon tea. “It tastes noticeably different from other Ceylon teas that you can find on this website. And it is nothing like the ‘Ceylon’ flavour of the teas that can be found in supermarkets. Still, I like the balance in the delicate taste of this tea very much. Somehow this tea has everything right about it.”

Product: Good tea, shame about the service. Other on-line shops sell high quality single-estate Ceylon OPs, I have discovered.
Service: Items said to be despatched on 22 January 2016 arrived on 3 February with a 1 February 2016 franking date. Mranwhile, Mr Grey was averse to accepting that the goods had not arrived after over a week supposedly in the post, said that he would not send replacements until a forthnight had passed (no offer of refund, mind), and wanted me to chase Royal Mail for him (without benefit of proof of posting). Bah!
Vendor response: As per my email dated 2.2.16, I appreciate the inconvenience but we could not despatch a second order until we were fairly sure that the first was missing. I am pleased it did arrive safely. I tried to ring your local Royal Mail delivery office but could not locate the number. I am sorry delivery has taken so long. The postal system is normally very reliable.

Product: Re-order of tea we have had before. We are familiar with this tea from visits to Sri Lanka. We were pleased to be able to source in UK. This is the champagne of teas and Grey’s have an excellent example.
    Service: Rapid efficient service

Product: A nice tea – again delicate but lacks a really good after taste. To get a good flavour, it needds a longer brewing that starts to increase the tannin taste.
Service: Always a very swift service with orders met and fabulous tea delivered.
