Darjeeling Castleton tea: FTGFOP grade

This Darjeeling Castleton tea has a golden bright liquor with a pungent flowery sweet bouquet. It is well-rounded with a characteristic muscatel aroma. The famous Castleton Estate was established on the foothills between Darjeeling and Siliguri by Dr Charles Graham in 1885. In 1996 it became the first Indian tea garden to be awarded the ISO 9002 certificate of quality. Use one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot with freshly boiling water and infuse for three minutes.

The benefits of loose leaf tea

  • This is a carefully sourced tea chosen for its distinctive, balanced flavour.
  • Loose leaf tea enables the full flavour characteristics of the tea to infuse.
  • The tea is chosen for its high grade which imparts the flavour and aroma characteristics for which this tea is best known.
  • A little patience is required when infusing large leaf grades but you will be rewarded with a superior, more balanced cup.

Product: This is more a summer tea for me as a bit subtle for the winter months. However, come the summer, I shall enjoy Darjeeling far more.
Service: Excellent service. Rather too many feedback requests though. One should be sufficient.

    Product: A good, reliable Darjeeling.
    An English haiku:

    Sunrise is tardy,
    Birdsong delayed.
Darjeeling cools in a pint glass.
Service: As usual, the tea arrived quickly, in a lovely pizza-style box, inside which are the wonderful 3-layer tea bags (paper, aluminium foil & mylar). BTW I HATE it when the website questions my spelling of aluminium. This is the bloody UK, twerps!
    But to continue.
The Ti Kuan Yin (Tie Guan Yin, fooh!) is superb, a hearty greenish oolong. The Darj. is a repeat purchase, well-known on my shelf. The Keemun I haven’t tasted for decades, & am looking forward to renewing my acquaintance. And the Oodoowerre… I am keenly anticipating this.
I shall report on the Greys webite in due course.
