Assam Mangalam tea SFTGFOP1: a quality clonal.
This Assam Mangalam tea has an enthusiastic following and originates from Nagaland province, near to where tea was first found to be growing wild back in the nineteenth century. The garden itself was not established until 1973 but it has earned a considerable reputation. This is a high-grade SFTGFOP1 picking with abundant golden tips. It is bright, rich, spicy and has a full bodied maltiness and sufficient astringency to take milk well: a great and elegant breakfast tea. Use one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot with freshly drawn and boiled water. Infuse for four minutes. Drink with or without milk.

- Assam Mangalam tea is chosen for its high grade which imparts the flavour and aroma characteristics for which this tea is best known.
- A little patience is required when infusing large leaf grades but you will be rewarded with a superior, more balanced cup.

A robust, deep, dark and incredibly smooth tea, perfect on its own with milk any time of day. When combined with Nuwara Eliya Court Lodge OP1 in a weight ratio of 2 parts Assam to 1 part Nuwara Eliya you’ll enjoy tea perfection. Simply divine.
This is probably the best Assam I have ever tasted!

Service: Excellent advice, service and product. Richard was very patient with me as a novice leaf tea consumer, he was happy to explain the difference in the teas and to take into account my budget. The teas were a lot fresher than those from supermarkets or national chains

The Assam Mangalam is a really great Assam. Manages to be strong and tasty without being tannic. Could not beat Grey’s price on this.

Not cheap (though Grey’s price is the by far the best I have found) but you really do get what you pay for with Assam Mangalam. It’s a smooth, very tasty tea, I brew it for 3 minutes. Delicious.
