Description

Ceylon Dimbula Kenilworth: Orange Pekoe from Dimbula.

Ceylon Dimbula Kenilworth is produced near Ginigathena, Dimbula in Sri Lanka's western hills. It is grown at an elevation of 3500 ft. Carefully chosen tender tea leaves are picked after the first monsoon and are then processed in cooler weather resulting in Kenilworth's unique creamy character. The rich flavour has hints of tobacco, cocoa and spice with fruity undertones. The leaves are long and beautifully twisted. Use one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot with freshly boiling water and infuse for four minutes. Drink with milk.

Ceylon Kenilworth Orange Pekoe (OP) grade holds the record for the top price bid over Colombo's 125 year auction history. Kenilworth takes its name from the town in Warwickshire, England, well known for its castle, home of Robert, Earl of Leicester. He was the great love of Queen Elizabeth I (1533 – 1603).

The benefits of loose leaf tea

  • This is a carefully sourced tea chosen for its distinctive, balanced flavour.
  • Loose leaf tea enables the full flavour characteristics of the tea to infuse.
  • The tea is chosen for its high grade which imparts the flavour and aroma characteristics for which this tea is best known.
  • A little patience is required when infusing large leaf grades but you will be rewarded with a superior, more balanced cup.

  6. andreafinney (verified owner)

I like a ceylon as a rule. I found this a pleasant option, clean, light and refreshing but lacking some of the complexity I have enjoyed with other ceylon teas. I like that it is organic.

  11. Rupert West (verified owner)

Product: The perfect sunday morning cuppa
Service: Tea arrived quickly and was well packed – Naturally the tea itself tastes just great

  12. Jen Musgreave

Product: This is our afternoon tea – strong with a biscuit, lovely. We re-buy this regularly.
Service: I have ordered many times from Greys teas – it would be helpful if they remembered what I’ve ordered in the past and stop treating me as a new customer each time. Also when Greys recommend new teas in their newsletters, it would be good if they took account of my previous purchases: I always buy Keemun Dahlia and Ceylon Kenilworth – I would like to know other teas that are similar in character. I work in CRM and would happily advise Greys on how to improve their relationships with existing customers!
Vendor response: You are free to create an account where you will be able to see previous teas ordered by yourself since you created the account. We group teas by growing regions under black, green, oolong and white teas so comparable teas will be on the same sub-section page with links through to the individual tea pages where their tasting notes appear in full. On occasions we do cross reference such as our Earl Grey blend is linked with our China green Earl Grey tea. We do value your feedback. I hope this response is helpful.

    Product:
Service: The tea is of course excellent, but this is the first time of many when I had to follow up to find out what had happened to my order of which I was informed nothing about progress after a week. My credit card had been charged.
I hope the tea will arrive tomorrow.

I haven’t had any Ceylon tea for a number of years now due to my previous suppliers changing their sources. Thought I would try one of Grey’s Ceylon teas and I wasn’t disappointed. Makes a nice change to Assam in the morning, and works extremely well at tea time too.

  19. robinbond (verified owner)

A classic Ceylon with a clean flavour. Should not be ruined with milk !

  20. Rory (verified owner)

Beautiful tea! Elegant and refined, but with so much flavour! Does anyone want a box of teabags? Don’t think i’ll ever use them again… 🙂
